Becoming Zave

If I cannot find hope, I will become it.

The things I’m thinking about.

I have a lot of thoughts. Probably too many, if I’m honest.

Some of them come from lectures and textbooks. Some come from conversations I’ve had, things I’ve experienced, or questions I’ve found myself unable to stop thinking about.

And some begin with a very simple thought: “why do we do that?

This is where I put them.

You’ll find me writing about psychology, mental health, trauma, identity, disability, grief, relationships, society and all the complicated little things that make us human.

Some posts are personal.

Some are more academic.

Some are somewhere in between.

I might tell you about something I’ve experienced and then disappear down a psychological rabbit hole trying to understand why it happened. I might take something I’ve learned in my studies and wonder what it actually looks like outside of a textbook.

And sometimes, I’ll simply have something I need to say.

I’m not here to tell you what to think. I’m not here to give you advice or pretend I have everything figured out.

I’m learning, too.

So think of this less as me telling you the answers, and more as me inviting you into the questions.

If something I write makes you think differently, teaches you something new, gives you a different perspective, or simply makes you think, “oh. It’s not just me,” then it’s done what I hoped it would.

Welcome to my thoughts.

Take what resonates.

Question what doesn’t.

And, hopefully, find something here that makes you feel a little less alone.
